Local PM supports DATUM
Leonard Nyirenda, Member of Parliament for Nkhata Bay North West has given his invaluable support to DATUM’s Secondary School Project in Chisala.
Recently elected independent candidate Nyirenda, who spent eight years as a director for the carbon offsetting project for the Clinton Foundation, welcomed the "very commendable" project.
"I can give you my assurance that I am involved and am supportive of DATUM's project," he told trustees of DATUM during a meeting in Lilongwe, Malawi’s capital, during which the idea of integrating a training centre to the school was discussed.
"This project will be a model, not only for Nkhata Bay, but for this country. It will be a unique way of dealing with local and national issues; and making sure we offer training for both rural and urban skills to all pupils".
